The appliance must be commissioned in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. This confirms that the boiler and relevant installation parameters have been checked before handover.
Benchmark documentation
Where applicable, the Benchmark commissioning checklist provides a record of key installation and commissioning information. It should be completed accurately rather than treated as paperwork to fill in later.
Manufacturer warranty registration
Warranty terms vary by manufacturer. Registration and servicing requirements should be followed to preserve the warranty offered with the appliance.
Building Regulations notification
Relevant boiler installation work in England must meet Building Regulations requirements. Competent-person arrangements can allow registered installers to self-certify applicable work and trigger the appropriate compliance certificate.
Customer handover
The homeowner should understand the basic controls, receive relevant documentation and know the servicing requirements for the new appliance.
