Establish the actual heat requirement
Existing commercial plant may have been oversized, the building may have changed, or insulation and emitters may have been altered. Replacement design should consider the current load and operating requirements.
Single boiler or cascade?
Depending on the application, multiple boilers can provide modulation range and resilience. A single larger appliance may suit other installations. The right configuration depends on the building and the consequences of plant failure.
Controls and hydraulics
New boilers need to integrate correctly with pumps, headers, circuits and building controls. Poor integration can undermine the benefits of installing efficient modern plant.
Flue, gas and plant-room requirements
Commercial boiler replacement may involve changes to flue arrangements, gas supply, ventilation, condensate and electrical/control systems. These should be assessed as part of the project rather than treated as afterthoughts.
