Ground loop or borehole circuit
The collector circuit carries heat-transfer fluid between the ground and heat pump. Depending on the installation, checks can include system pressure, accessible valves and circulation, and the concentration or frost protection of the brine mixture.
Expansion vessels
Both collector and heating circuits can incorporate expansion arrangements. Vessel condition and charge can influence system pressure stability, so they are relevant to a thorough maintenance visit.
Heating-side operation
The building's underfloor heating, radiators, buffer vessel and controls all influence the way the heat pump operates. Flow, temperatures and system settings should be considered in the context of the installation.
Hot water
Where the GSHP also heats domestic hot water, the cylinder, controls and associated components form part of the overall system. Unvented cylinders have their own specific safety and competence requirements.
