A hidden leak with the potential for major damage
Envirowarm attended BMW Stratstone in Hull following a leak from the cold-water main above the dealership’s luxury vehicle handover bay. Water ingress was threatening the suspended ceiling and could have caused extensive damage to a customer-facing area.
Once access was gained, our engineers found five separate pinholes in the copper pipework. The site’s hard-water conditions were considered a possible contributing factor alongside the condition of the existing pipe.
The damaged pipework was removed and renewed, the affected area was cleaned thoroughly, and the ceiling tiles were carefully realigned. By the time we finished, the handover bay looked ready for business again.

A pinhole may look insignificant once the pipe is removed, but a pressurised cold-water main can release enough water to damage ceiling tiles, finishes, electrics and the customer area below.
