2,000 metres of Alupex underfloor heating

A large, carefully planned underfloor-heating installation for a new-build home in Swanland, East Yorkshire—designed around two Daikin air-source heat pumps and a 300-litre hot-water cylinder.

The project

Low-temperature heating engineered into the building

This new-build property called for underfloor heating on a genuinely large scale. Envirowarm installed approximately 2,000 metres of Alupex pipework, creating carefully routed heating circuits across the home before the concrete screed was laid.

The wider system includes two Daikin air-source heat pumps and a 300-litre hot-water cylinder. Underfloor heating is well suited to heat-pump operation because it can distribute heat across a large surface area using appropriately designed lower water temperatures.

Once pipework disappears below screed, access is difficult and disruptive. Material choice, circuit planning, fixing, bend control, manifold organisation and pre-screed checks therefore matter enormously.

Scale and specification

Why Alupex?

Confidence below the concrete screed

For pipework that will be permanently enclosed below screed, long-term strength and reliability are essential. We selected Alupex multilayer pipework for its robust construction, dimensional stability and suitability for this demanding installation.

Strong multilayer construction for long-term service
Stable pipe shape helps maintain accurate circuit routing
Careful manifold organisation for future identification
Lifetime warranty supplied with the selected pipe system

Warranty protection is subject to the pipe manufacturer’s current terms, approved application and installation requirements.

See the scale before the screed goes down

The supplied walkthrough shows the density of the circuits, the controlled turns and the amount of planning required to route pipework through a large new-build property.

Good underfloor heating is largely invisible when the house is finished. This stage is where the workmanship that supports decades of comfort can still be seen and checked.

Regional experience

Large underfloor-heating projects need experienced hands

Envirowarm has installed underfloor-heating systems for more than 20 years. That experience is especially valuable on large properties, where circuit lengths, manifold positions, heat-pump compatibility and the construction programme must all work together.

Projects like this Swanland home demonstrate our capability across underfloor heating, air-source heat pumps and hot-water systems as one coordinated installation.
